Crayfish Sightings

If you have seen either the American Signal Crayfish (Pacifastacus Leniusculus) or the Native English White Clawed Crayfish (Austropotamobius Pallipes) in the UK, especially in Dorset or Hampshire, then please contact us.

The locations of the American Signal Crayfish will be shown on a map below, and as these are a very dominant and invasive species of Crayfish then they are likely to be situated in very dense populations especially in the areas in which they were first introducted to the country.

According to the BBC news website, the distribution of the Signal Crayfish appears to be most dense in the South of England, towards London. From our experience it seems that the Signal Crayfish are in great numbers in the South West of the country too, something which isn't displayed on their sightings map.
